1. House Rules & Conduct
Only registered guests may occupy a room. The Property reserves the right to evict unregistered or excess occupants without refund. The Property reserves the right to refuse service or remove guests whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, or negatively impacts other guests or staff. Guests must follow all instructions from Property employees and comply with posted safety and hygiene requirements.
2. Historic Property Notice & Accessibility
The Shaw House is an 1854 heritage property. Due to the historic structure:
- The upstairs rooms are accessible only via a narrow, curved staircase, which may be difficult for guests with mobility impairments.
- Guests with disabilities or difficulty navigating stairs are strongly encouraged to book ground-floor rooms for comfort and safety.
- Some areas may include narrow hallways and limited maneuvering space.
The Property does its best to reasonably accommodate guests while preserving the building's historic integrity.
3. Pet Policy
- $25 per pet per night. 2 pet max per room. 50 lb max weight per pet.
- Pet-friendly rooms are located exclusively on the ground floor.
- Pets are allowed inside designated rooms only and on outdoor grounds.
- Pets are not permitted in indoor common areas.
- Pet fees and any additional cleaning/damage fees may apply.
- Guests are fully responsible for their pets' behavior, noise and safety.
4. Reservation, Payment & Cancellation
- A valid credit or debit card is required to secure the reservation.
- In the event of a no-show, one night's room charge (including applicable taxes) will be charged to the card on file.
- Cancellations within the property's cancellation window are non-refundable.
- Special offers or promotional rates may carry unique terms; in case of conflict, those specific terms prevail.
- If discrepancies arise between these terms and the final bill, the terms listed on the final bill will prevail.
5. Identification Requirements
Guests are required to present valid, original government-issued identification upon check-in. Failure to do so may result in refusal of accommodation without refund.
6. Guest Responsibilities
Guests must:
- Maintain cleanliness and appropriate hygiene in the room.
- Respect all Property assets, furnishings, décor, and equipment (both movable and immovable).
- Refrain from any actions that compromise Property safety, building structure or other guests' comfort.
The Property reserves the right to charge for any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning determined to be caused by the Guest or their pet.
7. Allergies, Sensitivities & Special Requests
Guests with allergies, sensitivities or intolerances must notify Property management prior to arrival. While the Property will make reasonable efforts, we cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.
8. Valuables, Safety & Lost Property
- The Property is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings caused by guests' own acts, omissions, or negligence.
- Lost items will be logged and held for pickup.
- Perishable items are held until close of business on the day of check-out.
- Guests may collect lost items with valid identification or request postage at their own expense.
9. Privacy & Data Protection
The Shaw House collects personal information—including name, contact details, and payment information—for reservation processing, communication, and legal compliance. We do not sell or share personal data except as required for lawful processing (e.g., payment systems). By booking, guests consent to this use of their data.
10. Liability & Force Majeure
The Property is not liable for financial loss, injury, travel delays, or additional expenses caused directly or indirectly by events outside our control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Government actions
- Fire, flood, or extreme weather
- Power outages or mechanical failures
- Accidents or medical emergencies
- Civil disturbances, strikes, theft, or acts of terrorism
- Airline delays or cancellations
Transportation assistance, when provided, is an ancillary courtesy and is accepted at the guest's own risk.
11. Amendments
The Shaw House reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updates will be posted promptly on the Property's website. Guests are responsible for reviewing current policies.
