Our Neighborhood
Our Shaw House Inn is a beautifully restored frontier home nestled in the pastoral Eel River Valley. We are surrounded by giant redwoods, rugged Pacific coastline and mountain rivers.
Just to our south is the famous Avenue of the Giants and the Redwood State Park, Prairie Creek, and Patrick's Point Park, Fern Canyon, and the beach parks are just to the north.

Romantic Getaways
Our elegant Shaw Suite is a perfect room for the most special of occasions.
The “Master Bedroom” of the house has been given to honeymooners since the 1860s. Marriage ceremonies were performed in the house by its builder, Seth Shaw, and the newlyweds were ushered upstairs to sleep in a huge four poster feather bed under the 20 foot vaulted ceiling. The suite's cozy fireplace keeps romance warm. A few nights spent in the Shaw Suite is definitely a time honored tradition.

Healthy Breakfast
Social distancing has changed our breakfast seating, but our breakfast buffet is as delicious as always. There will be a ‘hot out of the oven’ egg entree, a meat choice, pluse a freshly baked pastry of some sort, maybe muffins, scones, coffee cake slices, homemade donuts or yeasted cinnamon rolls. Our dining room refrigerator will be filled with yogurts, juice boxes, fruit cups. We'll have fresh oranges, clementines and bananas. We always do our baking with organic flour, sugar and cage free eggs.
Of course, freshly ground & brewed organic coffee in hot pots, with stacked to-go cups or dishwasher sanitized Shaw House mugs.
All can be enjoyed at one of our indoor tables for 2, an outdoor table, or take a tray to your room.
